So Much is New
2010 is upon us! With all the strangeness and difficulty of 2009, I have to admit that this is good news.
But there is more good news than just the feeling of release at the end of things. There is good news that strong and healthy things are happening in our parish and in our community.
First off, we are moving our traditional service a half-hour early to 8:00am. This will help us establish an hour of education, rehearsal, and fellowship every Sunday morning.
Second, we have established a powerful relationship with the Urbana Food Bank and we have an opportunity to expand and enhance our service to our community.
Third, we have good ministry activities upcoming during Lent and beyond. Watch for news on Lager for Lent, a reading of Shop Class as Soulcraft, a sermon series on forgiveness, and more Gears of Faith activities.
Fourth, we have a gifted new musician who starts on January 3rd. She has a lot of energy and lot of experience and will be a great blessing to our congregation.
So goodbye 2009. You were a tough year but also one of preparation and the seed of new life.
